New dolls added

A nice old lady (the dog's not real!) and my first attempt at 24th scale.

Koi watercolour

I've got a thing about koi carp at the moment. I think they make beautiful tattoos (not that I would ever get a tattoo because I change my mind far too often). Looking at him now, I love his orange spots but I think he needs a few more ripples or something going around him.

Painting: furry!

The girl is a weird image that I had in my mind. I wanted the night sky in the background but didn't just want to dot some odd stars here and there. So I used the star globe that my husband bought me for Christmas and added it digitally. (They are really cool by the way, you can lie on your bed and watch the stars go by!)

Wentworth Castle Gardens

All fans of romanticism, architecture and the 18th century may be interested in this little hidden gem which I visited this weekend. Wentworth Castle is an italianate house sitting in a huge parkland, with extensive gardens which you can visit. The "castle" is actually a fake, built as a garden folly and named Addingham Castle after the nearest village. You can climb right up inside it for a fantastic view over the park. There's plenty to explore for one morning in the gardens, we didn't have time for the parkland but will be going back soon for more!

Ahoy!

For those who haven't yet visited my Poppet Minis website, here is one of my favourite dolls from last year. He was inspired by the likes of Horatio Hornblower and certain Jane Austen heroes.
